Colin and Katie met through Facebook dating. Both were hesitant about the app but decided to give it a shot and to this day they say it was by the grace of God that they matched. Luckily Colin has the patience of a saint and spent a couple months slowly gaining Katie's trust until she was finally ready to meet in person. Their first date was at Duke's Seafood on Ruston Way in Tacoma WA in 2024. They enjoyed talking about shared interests, work, faith, and family. Once the date was over they both agreed they wanted to continue seeing each other and from there the rest is history! Colin has always loved Star Wars and would talk to Katie about the Star Wars trading card game he would play on Monday nights. Although this was a foreign language to her, she did her best to listen and understand. Katie decided to showed Colin her old Pokémon card binder which inspired him to buy her some Pokémon packs while at his card tournaments. When Katie opened her very first pack, and pulled a Charizard they were hooked! It was because of this shared love of Pokémon that they started watching Pat Flynn (DeepPocketMonster) on YouTube and learned about Card Party 3, the biggest Pokemon Card Convention, which Pat was hosting in Seattle on October 3rd-5th 2025. Colin got the idea to reach out to Pat during his first live stream for Card Party about the possibility of proposing. Pat and the Card Party staff loved the idea! Thanks to Pat's generous heart, he provided everything Colin would need to propose. Pat had the idea of Colin surprising Katie on stage by popping out of a Pikachu costume, and provided a coordinator, professional videographers, photographers, and a crew to help him in and out of the Pikachu costume. All Colin needed to do was bring the ring and per Pat's instructions "enjoy the most amazing day of your life!" To say they surprised Katie is an understatement. It will be a night they both will remember and cherish for the rest of their lives. They are excited for their future Pokémon game room where they can display their Pokémon collection and play video games together with friends. Colin and Katie are so excited to share their wedding day with everyone and are looking forward to adding some of their love of Pokémon to their special day as well. They can't wait to see where this next adventure in life takes them, and are excited for their future children to pick their starter Pokémon!

Liz and Katie met 16 years ago at a choir retreat in college and became fast friends. With a shared love of music, video games, dancing, and whiskey nothing could keep them apart, even living in different states. Katie was Liz’s Maid of Honor for her wedding in 2021 and is so excited to now bestow that honor to her.

Colin and Kyle have known each other for 20+ years. Through their shared love of hotdogs, comedy, guns, movies and video games they became best bros for life. While Colin went for Law Enforcement, Kyle went the opposite direction and became a Firefighter Paramedic with Los Angles County Fire where he rocks an awesome mustache. Although they live in different states Colin can always rely on Kyle and is honored to have him as his Best Man.

Kyle Simpson

Anna is Katie's younger sister of 5 years. She currently lives in Oregon but has traveled to multiple different countries and has lived in multiple states including, Idaho, and Colorado. Although Katie and Anna are opposite in almost every way, that's the thing Katie admires most about her. She loves Anna's adventurous spirit and enjoys seeing her Instagram stories of all the many hikes she has taken all over the country with her dog Oakley. Katie is so excited to have her sister standing with her on her Wedding day.

Colin and Dan became best friends in College with their shared hobbies of all things nerdy, from Video Games to Superheroes trivia. They had countless adventures, lots of late night video game sessions, lavish dinners and movies after the gym. Dan currently resides in California as Colin's Financial Advisor with UBS. Colin is honored to have Dan standing besides him on his wedding as one of his Groomsman.

Katie met Jon 17 years ago in college choir. They shared a love of music and the video game Halo and had many fun nights jamming out to Rockband on the playstation. He is her best guy friend and they still game to this  day even though they are states apart. Katie loves to take credit for Jon and Liz meeting and eventually getting married years later and was so glad to be apart of their wedding party as the Maid of Honor.

Canaan is Colin's older brother by 7 years. Even with the gap in age, they have and maintain a close relationship with their shared obsession of all things Star Wars. They enjoy talking about Canaan's travels to Japan, trips to a galaxy far far away at Star Wars Celebration and nerding out on Pokémon. Colin is blessed and honored to have his brother standing with him as his Groomsman.
